Have you ever wanted to create your own paintings but don't know where to start? Or do you love to draw but have been hesitant to take the next step into painting? Drawing skills or not, you can jump into this acrylic painting course. It is a great introduction into the world of painting. This short course will provide you with skills to create your own artworks. This short course will be conducted over 4 sessions x 3 hours. Please arrive a few minutes before the class so we can start on time. WHAT YOU WILL LEARN: - How to begin your painting from your base to the finishing touches - Learn how to break down your reference so you know what stage to paint it - Composition - Colour mixing - Techniques in brush work - Tips on preserving your work, caring for brushes ...and more! We will have lessons, a series of exercises and create a custom painting with your chosen photo reference. SKILL LEVEL: Suitable for beginners Small class of maximum 6 participants. If you prefer one-on-one, please email us. WHAT TO BRING: Pen, pencil and paper or notebook Snacks and/or beverage Optional - Tablet or phone for photo references (if you'd like to pick your own reference, choose a landscape) WHAT WE'LL PROVIDE: - A sampling of printed photo references of landscapes - Use of acrylic paints, brushes, and other necessary painting equipment - Small canvas board and canvas pad - Self-serve tea and coffee Due to the nature of the classes and limited places, attend the full course to get the full benefit. After you have gained these basic skills and would like to have the space and time for regular art practice with tutoring, we have Casual Classes on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.
