Suzanne S. Balanay - Visual Artist
Suzanne endeavours to capture the beauty and challenges of life through art.
She has always been fascinated by the subtleties of facial movement, the expression of body language and the mystery of the mind. Her portraiture endeavours to convey the human psyche. She aspires to capture the beauty and challenges of life in a series she is currently developing. In addition to the series, she paints and draws various subjects that piques her interest.
When she was four years old, her mother showed her how to draw a simple face which, in turn, was taught to her by her artist father. What her mother didn’t know, was that moment had sparked Suzanne’s passion for art. Suzanne began to beg her parents for art classes all the way until she graduated high school. She then obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts from University of San Carlos, Cebu City, Philippines.
She later moved to Australia after marrying her high school sweetheart. Suzanne is based in Brisbane, Australia, and also offers art classes from her home studio.
